Diabetes Wakatipu Home

Diabetes affects around 157,000 New Zealanders; this number includes both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Nationally around 10% of people with diabetes have type 1. In Queenstown we have a large proportion with Type 1 Diabetes- just over 100 people, around 30%.

Diabetes Wakatipu is a voluntary organisation set up to provide support, help and information to individuals and families who have diabetes. Over the years we have raised money to allow for the purchase of items such as the continual blood glucose monitor and the DCA2000 (which measures HbA1c).

Thanks to the Remarkable Xmas spectacular show & Shotover Jet we raised funds that allow us to establish this website.
